What I loved about CutCardStock paper was that the gold glitter paper, as well as the solid green and white shimmer papers, cut like butter on my Cricut. I have often had trouble cutting glitter because other brands can make a mess, clogging up my cutting blade and leaving glitter on my cutting mats. My machine was as clean as the cuts.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Bitten by the Bug2 is featuring a graduation challenge. I created what I think is an adorable graduation box card. I just love the little girl graduate and the owl. The patterned paper, believe it or not, are old left over scraps that were laying around, begging to be used! The card stock is American Crafts. The metallic card stock is from Hobby Lobby. The background patterned paper is the sky - a fun element in the throwing of gratin caps into the air.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I've been working on quilled paper flower shadow boxes lately. They are very time intensive, but I love the final result. The shadow boxes are 8x8 and from Michael's. I used Recollections card stock - the ombre colors were in a pack, but I changed one color group with another Recollections paper pack's gray, so there was more of a contrast between grays. The cricut-cut "friend" vinyl is "My Best Friend" image from the Phrases cartridge.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">How did I make it? I followed the instructions from this video by CrystalAnn and tweaked a few things for my purposes (for example, I needed one extra flower per row and had to make the flowers tighter to make it fit the frame). <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">CrystalAnn<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> provides the cut flower image, so the sizing is correct for an 8x8 frame. I used a regular (old) quilling tool and then switched off to using the tool in a drill. It did not work! The flowers were way too loose, not to mention getting a hideous paper cut. You need highly wound flowers to fit in the frame, so I had to rewind them. I also ordered new quilling tools after making this lol! I used a glue gun and adhered white card stock to the shadow box backing. Overall, I think it came out nice, even though some flowers are not quite the same size, but that's a beauty of handmade, right?

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Let's celebrate all things Easter at Bitten by the Bug2! From Easter eggs and bunnies to religious sentiments, create a project with your cricut on this theme.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">For my project, I cut some Siser vinyl using the Skinny font from dafont.com. It was such a fun project to do! The words that I used for one set were: Happy, Easter, Faith, Risen, Jesus, and Blessed. For the other set: Happy, Easter, Bunny, Hip, Hop and Peeps. I think that they will make great gifts!

The hearts on my card are found on the tiny flowers from Sweetheart's Three Heart Flowers -- as are the wings on the love birds (a free image of the day from Miss Kate Cuttables). Such dainty images - I cut them on the intricate card stock setting and they cut beautifully! And the tiny stems glued on to the card base hold nice too. The silhouette couple was a free image that I saved last year. I don't remember where I got it though. The girl was supposed to be holding a flower - but that was too thin to save, although it did cut.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here's a Freshly Made Sketch challenge that uses up some scrap papers.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I've been holding onto these scraps for a long time because of I love the coordinated colors and the patterns. I also love seeing the different cards that are made with this challenge. And I think that I am going to make some more using more of my coveted scraps. My stamp is from a Stamping' Up! retired set. It's such a great birthday sentiment go-to, and the stamp is die cut with their new rectangular stitched framelits, which is fast becoming a go-to also.Laura Pizzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18210509822172672420noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872838480078128538.post-59503469006124363772019-01-28T07:00:00.000-05:002019-01-28T07:00:04.890-05:00Everything's Coming Up Daisies

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We're hosting a snow challenge at Bitten by the Bug2, so pour yourself some hot cocoa and turn on your cricut machine. For this project, I used images for the following cartridges:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Winter Frolic: Snowflake, North Pole and Snowman (M38124)
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">When its Cold Outside: Snowman "There is Snowman Like You" (M38BD5)
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">For the tiny title, I used the intricate cardstock setting for most of the cuts, especially for the tiny title -- I am surprised that it cut so well. For the glitter paper, the glittered card stock setting. The paper still tore, but I blame the soft paper not the cricut machine. I also used a new glue (to me) for the tiny cuts -- On Point Glue from Joanns Stores. The tiny nozzle worked nice - But I hope that it doesn't become clogged like other brands have.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This is a cute card for Valentines Day or a just thinking about you.
I used the cricut cartridges <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; text-align: center;">Quilted Christmas and Winter Frolic -- and an SVG box card image. Far from perfect, I have some <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">random cuts on Mary's mantle and St. Joseph doesn't seem to have a face because the cuts were too tiny to glue on. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The Bitten by the Bug2 challenge for this two week period is to use a fall word in a cricut project. And it can be anything related to <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Autumn, Halloween or Thanksgiving. I used Mini Monsters for the Spooktacular title and the rickety fence. The cemetery hill is Happy Hauntings - it's <Grvyrd-s>, and you can't find it under a "graveyard" search. The photos mats are dripped goo - thanks to my old Martha Stewart border punch.
I used the cartridges <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Winter Frolic and Thoughts and Phrases (which is FREE on Design Space!). <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I made a bridal shower box card for my husband's cousin. I used a lot of reds and purples because those are the color theme for her wedding. I also matched the couple's hair and skin tone - a fun way to customize a die cut. I added a rhinestone for the engagement ring - and it looks like a big rock! I hope that she likes it!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Sweethearts for the words, umbrella, and the "will you" image of the couple

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here's my Anything Goes Challenge from Bitten by the Bug2. This box card was made using Simply Charmed (chimney), Winter Frolic (Santa), and a Quilted Christmas (sleigh). I also have my own "Santa Stop Here" SVG file and the box card itself is from SVGCuts.com. I am just in love with this card -- not even sure if I could part with it! What I love most is how the cricut cut the glitter paper so beautifully and there is such detail even in a two inch die cut. I use the Cricut Air and used the intricate cut setting on the gold sleigh and Santa belt buckle.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here's a two-week long Bitten by the Bug2 challenge: in honor of Labor Day, let's create some projects that celebrate what we do and how we do it - from a last day of summer BBQ to what we do for work.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here's what my husband has been "working" on -- a new bridge to replace an old one. It's hard work, and I am proud of him -- working in all sorts of weather in a physically demanding job. Not for those scared of heights, for sure!
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I used a "System Font," which is Arial Black for the title, and the Handy Man (for the tools, construction horse and tool box) and the Destinations cartridges. I cut the bridge and title on silver foil paper. I also used intricate cut on the cricut settings - shocked that the toolbox lines cut so well (my glueing, not so good, lol).

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hope that you will join in on this challenge. And Happy Labor Day!Laura Pizzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18210509822172672420noreply@blogger.com0
