Mod Podge Nature Cards

For these nature cards, I layered Tim Holtz idea-ology cut outs (Botanical Layers) and adhered them with Mod Podge. I inked the edge and splashed gold mist over everything and sealed with more Mod Podge. It took some time for the drying, but I love the streaky look that the glue gave these cards. I attached the card fronts with Tombow glue because it is a strong enough glue for the heavy card fronts.

Coffee Cards with Scraps

So I am working on some adorable, altered mini coffee cups -- and had a bit of leftover scraps. I put together some coffee themed cards. I used Coffee Break designer series paper and the Coffee Cafe bundle (die cuts and stamps), and stitched circle framelits from Stamping' Up!.

Colorful Cards Using New In Colors

As you may - or may not - know, Stamping' Up! comes out with new In Colors each year. This year's are beautiful, and I couldn't help myself and bought the designer paper pack with each color, matching ink, and other matching embellishments.

My favorite is the bold Lemon Lime Twist color. I topped off the cards with the hard-to-get Daisy punch.
The stamp set that I used is Happy Birthday Gorgeous. The stamp set is versatile and includes more than birthday sentiments. I will be teaching how to make these cards at my next card class.

A Challenge for BBTB2: 3D Projects

This week's Bitten by the Bug2 challenge is to make a 3D item - any theme.

I chose Cricut Domed Box #M97B36 from Fancy Boxes. It really is a closed off gift box, but I thought it would look gorgeous as a tea light. What an intricate cut - but my cricut handled it well! There were a few spots that skipped, but sharp scissors made the tears smooth.

I decided to turn these into the lights and instead of cutting the inside panels, I hand cut transparency paper. I hand cut them because I had 8.5 by 11, instead of 12x12 sheets. I painted the cardstock with a bronze medium (DecoArt Metallic Lustre wax in Iced Expresso) to give it a bit of a patina look.

I also finished off the tops to ones - the one that cricut shows the box (right) and my way, a closed off topped (left).

Here is how they look lit up:

Lemon-Lime Twist "It's Your Day"

For this card I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #295knowing that my Daisy Stamp and Punch would make the perfect circle shape for their challenge. I love the Lemon-Lime Twist ink and DSP,  and I used the sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous Photopolymer stamp set.

I added one of the large Clear Faceted Gems and some tiny Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a finishing touch. My next few cards will look similar, with different In Colors and sentiments from the same stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Patriotic Challenge

This week's Bitten By the Bug2 challenge is to use red, white and blue - or anything patriotic. Here is my 4th of July layout. I used Stand and Salute for the banner, trimmed it with ribbon and added the title Freedom with system fonts. But what I love most about this layout, of course, is my children having having fun with sparklers, especially goofy fun. Great memory that without scrapbooking might have gotten lost in my memory.
