Vintage or retro?

Vintage or retro? Maybe a little of both. What do you think?

I took a light-hearted approach to these Tim Holtz ephemera...with whimsical sayings from Art Impressions stamps. And the Tim Holtz patterned papers really worked well with the photos --  I shouldn't have been surprised, huh?

Let's Do Coffee Card

This is a card that I made for a Coffee Loving Facebook group friend. The theme was coffee and flowers. I originally wanted to make a coffee cup as a flower pot for three-dimensional flowers, but this Stampin' Up! patterned paper caught my eye: English Garden Designer Series Paper.

I used a new stamp set (new to me): Tailored Expressions "Perfect Blend." It is funny, how when I take a photo of my cards or scrapbook pages do I see things pretty objectively. I now see that I have to "sharpen" my coloring skills here as it is pretty uneven. It would be too easy to blame my colored pencils, even though they cost me $5 for a pack. Hmmm. Maybe I should blame them lol. What I do like about my coloring is using Skin White Copic markers. I would love to invest in more Copics, and get the dark, medium and light colors for blending, but maybe a good set of colored pencils should be on my wishlist.

Bold Flowers with New Designer Series Papers

Here's a couple of cards made with Flower Flair Framelits dies. I love these bold flowers cut on bright colors on such a fun Designer Series Paper (paper pack). The background is Stampin' Up!'s New Pop of Pink Designer Series Papers, which isn't yet available for purchase. One of the perks to being a demonstrator is pre-orders! The banners are made with "Thoughtful Banners" stamp set and the coordinating paper punch: Duet Banner. Whenever I can, I get the bundles. Love the discount, but more than that, they go together seamlessly.

Lacey Vintage Cards

It's been some time since I last blogged, but here are a few cards that I have finished. I made the lace flower embellishments above with some ribbon, buttons and hot glue.

For this next one, I used some more hot glue and folded lace:

These two cards have Stampin' Up! lace doilies. Very delicate but I think very beautiful:
