A Card Box - Great Way to Package Handmade Cards for Christmas!

Here's my card box that Pootles taught me ;) Her link is here -- http://pootles.co.uk/2014/07/09/thank-you-card-box-lid-tutorial/ --  and yes her samples are BEAUTIFUL! Next time I will get fancy like her! This handmade box fits ten standard A2 cards and envies for a nice present. The hardest part was measuring -- a few 1/16s to figure out (might be time to get my eye glasses updated)!

I used the

December Card Sketch at SSINKCS16

Here is my Stampin' Up! Sketch challenge submission for SSINK. Not happy with the lighting -- it is dark out, and we have had nothing but rain and now snow and more rain to come -- so this might be the best I can get!

I am a demonstrator, and my preorder for the new catalog just came in (yeah!) -- and loving the Adventure Bound 5x7 patterned papers. I used the mahgoney wood. This size paper fits perfect on an A7 card or you can cut it down for an A2.

Also used SU's gold glitter paper, my star diecuts and the itty bitty banners stamp and die. LOVE the metallic ink! Then popped up some cuts on foam adhesive.

So my son Erik is getting this card -- he will be a frog in his music class play. He is happy to be apart of the chorus, and he is happy to not have a line by himself.

Rosette Christmas Ornaments

Here's some Rosette Christmas Ornaments that I made from cardstock and glitter paper. I used the Tim Holtz Rosette die and my Big Shot. These were easy to make -- but very time consuming.

So here's my lessons learned...DCWV Glitter cardstock doesn't work so well, the rosette splits when you you try to adhere in a circle, but their fine glitter stack works awesome! Now for the glue - Tombow glue worked great until I ran out of it! Then I used some Scotch glue, which took much longer to dry. And when it dries, you have to apply even pressure on it to keep the rosettes flat. I used my cell phone. Worked!

Gentle Peace Nativity Card

We were all set to make some Christmas cards tonight, but a snowy mix put a kink into our plans. Our parish MOMS group meets once a month, and at this meeting, we were going to create some cards that would be distributed at a local nursing home for those who may not have family locally or much communication from loved ones during the holidays. I hope that we can reschedule!

So this was my sample. I have to admit it was difficult using Copics (wish I had Blendabilities but missed the mega Cyber Monday sale) on vellum...

Here's my ingredients -- all but the last item can be found here:
  • A Gentle Peace stamp set: Gentle Peace Photopolymer Stamp Set 139523; Price: $15.95

FCCB #238: Beyond Red or Green

This gift box was made from Box It Up cricut cart -- one of the new ones, and it is a really fun and CHALLENGING cart. I did have to google it for some tips and found some in the cricut chat room. But to save you some trouble, you have to cut this this shape two times and flip one of the them, so the box sides can connect. So please go to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to see what my Design Team sisters have created for "Beyond Red & Green" -- and to check out this week's sponsor.

Just Some Simple Bday Cards

Here's some birthday cards that I have made using the brights cardstock and inks from Stampin' Up! I have made these and few other items for a friend who is creating a birthday-themed display table for a Stampin' Up! event, and needed to use just SU products. And I noticed that I need to invest in some Stampin' Up! embellies! So this is a Plain Jane set of cards.

I do like being able to use the same stamp set (Big News) and Framelits Labels Collection dies in different ways. I used up some scraps for the banner below, using my banner punch and the Ovals Collection of dies. I also used a yellow, old leftover frame from a diecut and popped it up with some three-dimensional foam: Stampin' Dimensionals.

These were made from the Thinlits flip card dies. I used some embossing folders on the sturdy cardstock, and love how they came out. I am really itching to add some embellishments, but am going to go with less-is-more for now. I used the Circle Card Thinlits Die and Honeycomb Embossing folder on the blue card. The red card was made with the Label Card Thinlits Die, Perfect Polka dots Embossing folder. and Petite Pairs Stamp Set.

Join the Paper Pumpkin Party

Well, I finally hosted my Paper Pumpkin Party! My first one was canceled when we had boiler issues, but it was fun to get together and do some crafting with friends. We made pinwheels from a Paper Pumpkin summer kit and put together a Simply Sent card kit.

And my cat wanted to scrap too:

Terrific Tuesday!

Well, I went to work today, and wondered why all of the main doors were locked. My children have school on Veteran's Day, and the office is off! I need to get organized, I guess. But I am more creative than organized, so now I have some kid-free time to keep up on some Stampin' Up! fun.

And love how Tuesdays are no longer boring -- Stampin' Up! has released a new Banner Blessings Photopolymer Stamp Set

These stamps are so versatile -- aside from a ton of handmade cards - they would work on scrapbook layouts too. And the Tuesday Weekly Deals are truly tempting me -- may have to place an order for mama's own Christmas stocking!

FCCB# 233: Colors of Fall

Happy Monday and welcome to another Monday challenge!

Challenge #233 Color Challenge

This Weeks Sponsor

~This Weeks Challenge~
Color Challenge
Use the colors brown, orange, yellow, red

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used.

Here is my project:
I used Mini Monster's card feature and Scarecrow's leaves. Had some fun layering my own layers on the leaves and pressed them though the Big shot for embossing. Stampin' Up! cardstock cut like butter on the cricut machine.
