Hello Kitty birthday cards

Here's a couple of Hello Kitty birthday cards using Provocraft's Hello Kitty patterned paper. I think that these papers are adorable - and I have more cards planned.

I added a die cut, Flower Cupcake, from the Baby Steps cartridge and glued stickles to parts of the cupcake. For my second one, I used the Your Birthday die cut from Summer Celebrations. I matted the sentiment and the card front onto glittered card stock (had to see in the picture) and the heaviness gave it a curled look, which I fixed with red tape adhesive.

Breezy Balloon Birthday Card

Here's an easy, breezy birthday card to create with Balloon Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set and die cuts. With just some ink and a layered ballon, you can add some crystal stickles and have a pretty card ready for the mail.

Tuesday's Child Card

What I love most about Cricut Design Space is that we can use our own fonts - computer system ones and commercial use ones. And then adding vinyl, my new favorite medium to cut, makes those intricate and thin fonts actually cuttable. The sentiment comes from the poem:

Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesday's child is full of grace
Wednesday's child is full of woe
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonnie and blithe and good and gay.

Birthstone Birthday Card

This is a special card for a friend who loves the color purple. I used card stock, purple vellum, and a font in vinyl -- and added rhinestones for more gemlike sparkle. The cricut cut stones are Emeralds from Cricut's Disney® - Princess Happily Ever After, but they work equally as well for an amethyst. I love how semi transparent they are and their shimmer shine -- and how the vinyl makes the gems really pop. Plus, layering the smaller stone on 3d adhesive really gives this card texture.

Penguin Challenge

This week's Bitten by the Bug2 challenge is to use a penguin in a cricut project. Here I used Noah's ABC Animals for the tile and penguin and System Font for the title, which is Barista. I love this handwriting font - although un welded fonts sometimes are challenging to glue down. I used my Xyron X adhesive and finally figured out that burnishing the letters alleviates the overall stickiness, especially in the letters that have circles and curves. Took me years to discover this simple tip, lol.

As far as my layout, what a great memory to preserve. And touching a penguin and hearing his heartbeat is something that you can never forget. And how interesting to learn that these feathered birds live on warm beaches instead of the icy snowy arctic!

Mermaid Birthday Card

Here's a fun mermaid birthday card for this week's Bitten by the Bug2 Birthday challenge. I used a great cut from Design Bundles - The Crafters Delight Bundle Designs, a paid bundle, which includes "Mermaid Tail SVG." I used a pretty "Happy Birthday" from Paper Lace cartridge, one of my favorite birthday font images. I used pink glitter card stock for the tail and the saying -- and a green turquoise for the ocean waves and title background. I love the color combination -- it reminds me of the Caribbean waters, a nice creative escape from the brutal cold that we have been having this winter.

Avengers Cards

What a fun card to make with cricut's Avenger's licensed papers. I used a POW type of SVG image for the mat behind the Avenger characters. The rest was just glueing and inking the layers.

New Year's Card

This week at Bitten by the Bug2, we are posting a Christmas or New Years project. This fun card was made with a New Years SVG by svgsalon.com, which is still a free image. Try it out! It would make a great scrapbook layout too. Hope that the new year brings you the best!
