SSINK's Challenge is Use Sheltering Tree

Today's SSINK challenge is using the Sheltering Tree stamp set -- and so happy that I have this set! I waited to order it because I thought I could, then it went on back order, so as soon as it came back, I got it. Had to. And just opened it yesterday.

I wanted to use some flower soft on the trees -- but I didn't have pink, and I really wanted these trees to looks like Cherry Blossoms. My grandmother always loved those trees -- and I do too. So I used "Spring" Flower Soft for some random spring flowers in the inked grass instead. I also used my cricut on Stampin' Up! cardstock - love how it cuts!

SSINK's Contraband Challenge!

Here is SSINK's Contraband Challenge...And I think that I failed -- because even though I used my cricut, American Crafts cardstock and glitter cardstock and some lavender tulle -- I still needed to use my Stampin' up banner die and "Happy Easter" Stamp.

Come Try the SSINKLS19 Layout Sketch

Come join the SSINK Design Team with this minimalist sketch challenge:

You can see that I follow sketches pretty close -- for me, I enjoy the challenge of being pushed to work within preset constraints. What I love about this sketch is the simplicity of it -- and I love the empty space to the right, because there is plenty to focus on the left!

A Card Sketch Challenge: SSINKCS19

There's a cool Card Sketch Challenge at SSINKCS19:

So I changed a few things around - but I am happy with it, and the ladies at my card class had fun with this. Anyone who knows me knows that I hate to measure -- so I threw my craft night ladies a curve ball: I didn't measure the strips and showed them how to "eyeball it" when it comes to matting a layer. It is a matter of doing what feels right instead of being right, with a ruler. And I have to say, we had a lot of fun. And my tip is this - don't through out your scraps - they are the right touch for cards.

I made my Craft night girls these treats filled with M&Ms-- and with the extra, a few cards:

SSINK Occasions Catalog CASE

Today the SINK Design Team and I are CASEing -- cope and share everything -- from the Occasions Catalog. Page 23 inspired me -- loved the angle -- I thought that the card front was cut in half, so I did that, and kinda like it. I couldn't angle cut it though -- didn't want to mess with the linear patterned paper.

Gone Kit Crazy!

If you could have a kit class, which kit would you want to put together? I love them all, and can't decide -- might have to do four classes!

Creative Blog Hop

Thank you for following us on the Creative Blog Hop and coming by from Kim's blog

1.  What are you working on now?
This is a project that I did for the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration (SSINK) Design team swap, where we used new items from the Sale-A-Bration and Occasions catalog. I am now prepping for a craft night -- I have lots of surprises for them, so won't post ;)

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre?
I seem to using lots of bright colors and minimal embellishing on my cards, and my layouts are also becoming more streamlined.

3.  Why do you create what you do?
I am an active Design Team member on Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, and I love the challenges that they post and especially using my Stampin' up! stash -- and helps me to showcase what SU! offers all paper crafters, not just card makers and stampers.

4.  How does your creative process work?
I often have to start with a clean desk, but have been know to begin crafting on top of a craft heap when inspiration drives me. It will take me much longer -- and I love quick crafting, but I can only do that when my desk is clear and my stash is organized.

Thanks again for stopping by to check out my Blog Hop project! Please leave some "love" and be sure to continue the Hop next week (Monday, Feb 9th) and visit with Karla, my friend from a cricut design team: http://creative-love-affair.blogspot.com/
