Hearts Challenge

For Bitten by the Bug2 challenge, hearts, I used the Sweethearts and Holidays Through the Year Iron-On cartridges and free SVGs. 

The hearts on my card are found on the tiny flowers from Sweetheart's Three Heart Flowers -- as are the wings on the love birds (a free image of the day from Miss Kate Cuttables). Such dainty images - I cut them on the intricate card stock setting and they cut beautifully! And the tiny stems glued on to the card base hold nice too. The silhouette couple was a free image that I saved last year. I don't remember where I got it though. The girl was supposed to be holding a flower - but that was too thin to save, although it did cut.

Freshly Made Sketches #373

Here's a Freshly Made Sketch challenge that uses up some scrap papers. 

I've been holding onto these scraps for a long time because of I love the coordinated colors and the patterns. I also love seeing the different cards that are made with this challenge. And I think that I am going to make some more using more of my coveted scraps. My stamp is from a Stamping' Up! retired set. It's such a great birthday sentiment go-to, and the stamp is die cut with their new rectangular stitched framelits, which is fast becoming a go-to also.

Everything's Coming Up Daisies

This next challenge at Bitten by the Bug2 is to use a daisy - or any flower - on a project. Love this challenge especially during a cold January! 

I used the following images (and most of them on the intricate card stock setting):

Free Font: Antebellum

This was a free font with a commercial license. But if someone can explain to me why my font had solid letters and turned to an outline after ungrouping, welding, and attaching, I'd love to figure this out for next time. Here's the difference:

This was my first time printing and cutting on a shape. Now I am ready to do more attaching in Design Space.

Snow Challenge

We're hosting a snow challenge at Bitten by the Bug2, so pour yourself some hot cocoa and turn on your cricut machine. For this project, I used images for the following cartridges:

Winter Frolic: Snowflake, North Pole and Snowman (M38124)
When its Cold Outside: Snowman "There is Snowman Like You" (M38BD5)

For the tiny title, I used the intricate cardstock setting for most of the cuts, especially for the tiny title -- I am surprised that it cut so well. For the glitter paper, the glittered card stock setting. The paper still tore, but I blame the soft paper not the cricut machine. I also used a new glue (to me) for the tiny cuts -- On Point Glue from Joanns Stores. The tiny nozzle worked nice - But I hope that it doesn't become clogged like other brands have. 

This is a cute card for Valentines Day or a just thinking about you.

Coffee and Roses Card

I made this card with a Digi Stamp by STAMPlorations (Designed by Shery Russ): found at this page. I used Stampin' Blends Marker alcohol inks for the coloring and a brown spray mist for that old look. I also added stickles, and I liked the coffee bean texture that it gave the card. Here's a few more, in different color schemes, with different Stamping' Up! sentiments:

Holiday Gift Tags Challenge

In the season for giving, time to create some gift tags! Bitten the Bug2 is challenging you to create some holiday tags - from simple to fancy, from Hanukah to Christmas (and any other holiday), show us what you can do. 

The three tags that I have made include images from a "Christmas" cartridge: a Reindeer

#M43930 cut out of thin wood veneer, The "Christmas" part of Happy Christmas #M3B79C, Holly #M440F0 and Pine Bough #M3ED32 (both of which I used only the base layer). The pinecones were simply rolled flowers - and instead of rolling them tight, I pulled them from the middle to make it look outstretched. Christmas and Noel were chipboard that I added glitter to. I used a lot of distress inks, stickles, and glitter.

Christmas Card Challenge

Bitten by the Bug2 is holding a Christmas card challenge, and I know that you can join in on this simple challenge! I used the cricut cartridges Quilted Christmas and Winter Frolic -- and an SVG box card image. Far from perfect, I have some random cuts on Mary's mantle and St. Joseph doesn't seem to have a face because the cuts were too tiny to glue on. But overall these 2 inch cuts came out pretty good. I drew a star in the far corner, and used glitter paper on the angel's wings and the sentiment background.

Ornamental Challenge

Decking the halls, and decorating the tree -- make an ornament with the Cricut for Bitten the Bug2's next challenge. From an actually ornament to card or layout with one (or more), show us what you can make! 

I Used Winter Frolic for the Ornaments (labeled Ornament) and merry and bright was an SVG that I either got for free or bought -- I don't remember. I just love the whimsical font! I cut both out of foil card stock, using the foil paper setting. Think that my next card will be these images against a white background. Hope that you will do the challenge with us!

Birthday Challenge

Beware of a Halloween Challenge

Beware BBTB2's next two-week long challenge: Halloween themed! Come join us! My project is a two page layout - all set for some Halloween photos. I used the following cartridges: Teresa Collins Chic & Scary, Happy Hauntings, Holidays Through the Year Iron-on.

Fall Word Challenge

The Bitten by the Bug2 challenge for this two week period is to use a fall word in a cricut project. And it can be anything related to Autumn, Halloween or Thanksgiving. I used Mini Monsters for the Spooktacular title and the rickety fence. The cemetery hill is Happy Hauntings - it's <Grvyrd-s>, and you can't find it under a "graveyard" search. The photos mats are dripped goo - thanks to my old Martha Stewart border punch.

Coffee, Tea, You and Me

I am hosting Bitten by the Bug2's next challenge -- and it is anything about coffee or tea -- just in time for cooler fall weather! I used the cartridges Winter Frolic and Thoughts and Phrases (which is FREE on Design Space!). I think that I will do another version of this card -- this time with blues and lavender with white glitter.
